Kheer recipe, is a famous sub-continent recipe made with milk, suger, rice.
The word kheer has been extracted from the Sanskrit word 'skheer' which means milk. So the main ingredient is milk in kheer recipe and hence you can make several tastes of kheer by adding some additional elements.
What is meant by Rice kheer:
Rice kheer is a delicious traditional dessert food made with Basmati rice, suger, and Fat milk. Even sometimes it is consist of clove, kewra, sephroon. Kheer is a common but most important dish of the sub-continent's festivals and traditions.
Which Rice is best for kheer:
Generally the Basmati Rice is used to make kheer recipe but in different areas of sub-continent, different rice varieties are used for making a good type of kheer, so feel free to use other then basmati rice when making kheer.
Which Milk is best for Kheer:
Use full fat (whole milk) for making a next level version of kheer. You can also use coconut milk if you are vegan.
How to make Rice kheer:
After discussing that how to make rice kheer we will take a glance on its ingredients at once:
Ingredients:
Remember that our cup is 240ml,
4 cups milk.
1/4 cups water
1/4 cup rice
6-8 tbs organic suger
1/2 teaspoon cardamon powder
10 cashews and pistachios
2 tbs sweet raisin
Optional:
1 tbs of ghee
1 pinch saffron
Instructions:
Preparation:
- Wash rice completely and drain it chop the nuts and set in one side.
How to make kheer:
- Make a water surface on the button of pot so that the kheer can be seperated easily after over all process.
- Pour milk and wait untill it boils
- Hence you have used a heavy fat milk so stir the milk to prevent it stuck in the buttom.
- Add rice and stir untill the rice is not made soft and lightly mushy.
- Make this process in a light flame.
- Kepp stirring to prevent it from sticking in buttom.
- Stir and watch untill the milk get thickness and becoming slowly the kheer.
- Keep stirring to prevent burning
- Add the Cordoman powder, nuts and rose water and leave it for five minutes
- when it reaches to a desire consistency just turn off flame
- Leave it for half an hour to stay cool and after the time add nuts and serve:
